The File Extract Utility
This example shows you the settings and the results of File Extract. If you have set in file backup to keep five versions of every file you are going to backup, in the target folder, only five versions will be saved. When the sixth version comes, the first one will be deleted. If you want to keep more than five versions of some files, you would want to extract the previous versions of the file before the sixth version comes.
From the Backup user interface window, click on button Utilities then select File Extract to open open the dialog box for file extract.
- The Add and browse buttons are to be used for selecting source and target folders for file extract. If set file extract as shown in the picture. Click button Run to get following result.

- This picture presents the files with five versions in the back-upped folder.
Notice that the sixth version is the most current version here. The first version of files have been deleted.
- Here s the same back-upped folder after the extraction process. Because we have set to keep the last, one version in the extraction setting, only one version, the most current version, is left in the back-upped folder.
- This picture shows the folder where the extracted files are saved.
Four versions of each file are copied into this folder.
