Your objective:
- To keep your web server available for internet brewers at all time
- To keep information in the database available for internet customers at all time
Solution: ClusterReplica
You bought another Windows 2000 system (either server or professional model will work) and configured it just like that of your original web server system with the
SQL database server installed. Connecting both systems using a Switch (or a HUB), and then, install ClusterReplica on both systems.
This is your new web server now :
- Above picture shows how the cluster server works when both ACTIVE and STANDBY servers are running normally.
- The next picture shows the situation when the ACTIVE server is down.
Your web server is now in Failover state:   Now, the Standby server is activated and all of network service requests and newly entered data are going to the STANDBY system. To your network customers, however, their network access IP remains that of the ACTIVE servers - nothing is changed.

- After five hours of hard work, you fixed the problem on the ACTIVE server, and reconnected it to the STANDBY server.
Now the cluster server will be back running normally again.
