Replication-only To Local Or Remote Replication Destinations Without
Failover
The Replication only mode is a state of the cluster server in which
Failover/Failback functions are disabled so that the main purpose of the cluster
system is to replicate data in real time from the pre-defined source to
destination locations. While the replication source is always local to the
Primary stations, the replication destinations can be either on the remote
location when a Secondary station is bound to the Primary station; or local on
the Primary station when the Primary station is running alone.
Some of the key characteristics on replication only mode are:
- The Primary station remains as the Primary station
- Data replication always flow from the Primary station to the
Secondary station
- When the Primary station fails, network
clients’ server connection fails
- When the Primary station is restarted (or reset), data replication resumes
