Multiple Failure Detection Option for Failover

Besides standard failover detection due to system failure, ClusterReplica Standard Edition supports additional failure detections.

  • Keep-alive failover detection (default, required)

This is the duration of time which helps the local system to determine whether the remote system is still alive. If the local system gets no response from the remote system within the defined time period, the local system will start the Failover process if it is the Secondary station; or begin to operate in standalone mode if it is the Primary station.
  •
  • Network card failover detection

If the Primary system detects a problem with its network card in the failover enabled mode, failover will be activated to promote the Secondary system to be the Primary.
  • Monitored services failover detection

This option allows ClusterReplica to monitor user specified services in the failover enabled mode. As soon as any monitored service fails to respond, failover is activated to promote the Secondary system to be the Primary system.
  • User-defined web page failover detection

This option allows ClusterReplica to monitor user specified web pages for pre-defined keywords in the failover enabled mode. If the keyword is missing from the monitored pages, failover is activated to promote the Secondary system to be the Primary system.
