Real-time Data/Registry Replication
The
file replication function of ClusterReplica Standard 2.0 is among the most
powerful and efficient in its class. Besides handling all types of files,
including Windows IIS web service and web page files and dynamically generated
registry files, ClusterReplica Standard 2.0 replicates files in real time even
when the file is open and being used.
With successful installation, some default values
of memory space allocation and timing arrangement for data replication operation
are set as recommended values for best performance.
Users, however, still have the power to
change these values to best fit their system environment. This flexibility
promises the highest product efficiency and user satisfaction.
Following lists the areas users can manipulate to
their advantage and needs:
- Minimum/Maximum
virtual memory usage - the virtual memory allocated here is for the
ClusterReplica data replication’s internal processes’ use. However, too
much memory used by this one application may hinder performance of other
applications. So, balanced setting is recommended.
- Replication
Version-point - the values set in this section are related to how often
a new batch of data is transported from the Primary station to the Secondary
station.
- Regular version-point
timeout - this value indicates that data transport for non-database files
takes place every four seconds.
- Max forced
version-point queue - this is the number of forced version-point to be
queued. The forced version-point is an action taken by
ClusterReplica to break a data stream for data replication at the end
of the
pre-set version-point timeout period.
- Temporary workspace path
- this location is where ClusterReplica stores temporary files during
operation. If large database files are to be replicated and report mode
is activated, a large space for this temporary workspace may be needed.
Users can change the location to a different drive for this purpose.
- Temporary registry file
path – this location is for local data replication configuration.
Dynamically generated registry files will be copied into this location and
can be restored when recovery is needed. Click button Action in the
menu bar and select Restore Local Registry to recover registry files.
